Multiplexed ELISA

Why use Multiplexed ELISAs?

Multiplexing is shown to be more efficient with time, cost, and sample. However, there are multiple formats that can be multiplexed. The Quansys Array is applied in 96 well plates whereas other technologies employ membranes, chips or even bead based arrays. Below is a comparison chart of these different methodologies.

Membrane/ Chip Bead Based 96 Well Plate
Sample Size 1 ml per test 12.5-50 µl / test 5-30 µl / test
Cost Per Data Point $3.30 per data point $1.70 per data point $0.71 per data point
Speed- Data Point per Test 46 data points / test 1000 data points / test 1536 data points / test
Protocol Similar to Western Blots Complex- New Application Similar to ELISA
Equipment Gel Doc Systems or Auto Radiography ($1-40K) Equipment ($100-200K) Gel Doc System ($7-40K)
Automation Not Capable Capable Capable
Variation Acceptable Variability ≤10% CV Lot to Lot Variability Low Variability ≤7% CV
Quantification Qualitative Quantitative Quantitative
Clinical Application No Applications Multiple Applications Limited Applications

Applications

The Quansys Biosciences Array has been tested with variety of samples. Sera, plasma, tissue culture homegenates, cell culture supernates, lysates, nasal lavage and urine are some of the samples that we have tested.
