Adipose tissue, the storehouse of the body, provides an ever present source of energy for its host stored in the form of fat. Adipocytes as well as non-adipocyte
cells in the adipose tissue help regulate fat metabolism through secretion of and in response to adipokines. Adipose tissue responds to adipokines by modulating
fat storage levels. The adipokine profile is the first line of regulation of fat metabolism to help extablish the metabolic state of fat in the body and the metabolic
state of the body as a whole.
The Q-Plex™ Human Adipokine (4-plex) array is a fully quantitative multiplexed ELISA based test where up to four distinct capture antibodies
have been absorbed to each well of a 96-well plate in a defined array. Using less than 30 µl of sample, up to 80 samples can be assayed for all four markers
in less than 2.5 hours.
