Mouse MIP-2 Analyte Overview
Also known as MIP-2, Macrophage Inflammatory Protein 2, Chemokine Ligand 2, C-X-C motif, CXCL2
Macrophage inflammatory protein (MIP)-2 is chemokine protein released by different cells in response to infection or injury. The protein was named based on initial work detected it in macrophages as a part of their response to inflammatory stimuli. Its function is to assist in recruitment of neutrophils to sites of injury or infection and relies on signaling through CXCR1 and CXCR2.
