Mouse IL-3
Also known as Mast cell growth factor, multi-colony stimulating factor, eosinophil colony stimulating factor.
Interleukin 3 (IL-3) is produced by many cell types including activated T cells, mast cells, and eosinophils. IL-3 acts as a hematopoietic growth factor that signals through the IL-3 receptor. It stimulates colony formation of erythroid, megakaryocyte, neutrophil, eosinophil, basophil, mast cell, and monocytic cell type linages. Its effects are usually enhanced or entirely dependent upon co-stimulation with other cytokines such as IL-5, IL-7, and GMCSF.
