Human Survivin Analyte Overview
Human Survivin
Survivin, as its name suggests, is a protein involved in inhibiting caspase activation and thereby negatively regulates apoptosis. It is highly expressed in many tumors as well as fetal tissue, but is normally absent in terminally differentiated cells. Disruption of survivin induction pathways lead to increase in apoptosis and decreases in tumor growth.
