Human TNFRII Analyte Overview

Human TNFRII

Also known as Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor II

Tumor necrosis factors (TNFs) are a pleiotropic group of inflammatory cytokines crucial in how the immune system responds to injury or infection. Two forms of TNF exist, TNFα and TNFβ which compete for binding to the same receptors. Two different receptors have been described, tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) I and TNFRII. The receptors are immunologically distinct and show high affinity binding to either TNFα or TNFβ. Soluble forms of the TNFRs have been described in human serum and urine which can neutralize the biological activity of TNFs though the physiological role of soluble TNFRs is not completely understood.
