Analyte Description
Pregnanediol-3-glucuronide (PDG) is a metabolite of pregnanediol and progesterone produced in the liver. PDG has a much higher solubility in water than pregnanediol and is eventually excreted by the kidneys. It can be used as an assay for ovulation, as levels are detectable in urine and correlate with ovum status. PDG is also elevated in the urine of pregnant women.
